PEMANFAATAN CERITA RAKYAT BARIDIN DAN KEMAT JARAN GOYANG DI KABUPATEN CIREBON SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR SASTRA LISAN DI SMA

ABSTRACT

This research is motivated by the ideas of the importance of  extracting  Sundanese Culture value that is reflected in oral literature to be socialized in the form of learning  implementation at school. The purpose of this studyis to 1) describe the structure of the story, consistc of plots, character, setting, theme and mandate; 2) describe the context of the narrative, the story functions and cultural value of society; 3) describe its use as teaching material of appreciation of literature in high school class XII. The theory used in this research is the theory of the oral literature. This Study  used a qualitative approace with analitic descriptive methode. As for the source of the data in this study is the story of Baridin and Kemat Jaran Goyang, both oral texts that researches got based on the recording of the truly know considered informants as well as printed texts obtained through data collection tehniques. From the analysis of the  structure  researchers discovered the existense of the elements of the story that reinforces the opinion of the genre legends of folklore, that the story is included in the  classification of mantra kemat jaran goyang. From the analysis of the narrative context researches found the characteristics of orality of these stories.Related to the function of the story, researches found that the belief the speakers and the local community of the story can be taken as “mirror”in life. The value of the characters found in this story is a reflection of the embodiment behavior and life style of the people at his day, such as belief in God, patience hard work and so on. The results of the analysis of the structure and character values contained in the legends, researchers use this as a teaching material in the form of student worksheet. To determine student understanding of the  teaching material, the researcher make the learning process, such as listening to oral literature in class XII Senior High School.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya gagasan mengenai pentingnya penggalian nilai budaya masyarakat Sunda yang tercermin dalam cerita rakyat untuk kemudian disosialisasikan dalam bentuk pelaksanaan pembelajaran di sekolah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mendeskripsikan struktur cerita, yang terdiri atas alur, tokoh, latar, tema, dan amanat; 2) mendeskripsikan konteks penuturan, dan fungsi cerita; 3) mendeskripsikan pemanfaatannya sebagai bahan ajar apresiasi sastra di SMA kelas XII.Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori mengenai sastra lisan cerita rakyat dan teori yang mengkaji mengenai struktur cerita rakyat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analitis. Adapun yang menjadi sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah teks cerita Baridin dan Kemat Jaran Goyang baik teks lisan yang peneliti dapatkan berdasarkan hasil perekaman terhadap informan yang dianggap betul-betul mengetahui cerita tersebut maupun cetak  yang diperoleh melalui teknik pengumpulan data. Dari hasil analisis terhadap struktur, peneliti menemukan adanya unsur-unsur cerita yang menguatkan pendapat mengenai pengelompokan cerita rakyat, bahwa cerita ini termasuk pada genre legenda asal-usul mantra Kemat Jaran Goyang. Dari analisis konteks penuturan, peneliti menemukan adanya ciri kelisanan cerita-cerita tersebut. Berkenaan dengan fungsi cerita, peneliti menemukan adanya keyakinan penutur dan masyarakat setempat bahwa dari cerita tersebut dapat diambil hikmah untuk dijadikan “cermin” dalam menjalani kehidupan. Adapun nilai karakter yang ditemukan dalam cerita ini merupakan cerminan pengetahuann perilaku dan pola hidup masyarakat pada zamannya, seperti kepercayaan kepada Tuhan, kesabaran, kerja keras, dan lainnya. Hasil analisis struktur yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat tersebut, peneliti manfaatkan menjadi sebuah bahan ajar apresiasi sastra Indonesia. Untuk mengetahui keterpahaman siswa terhadap bahan ajar tersebut, peneliti melakukan proses pembelajaran, yaitu mendengarkan cerita rakyat di kelas XII SMA.
