Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of integrated science through a Jigsaw cooperative learning model for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru. This research is a type of classroom action research with the research subjects of VIII grade students of SMP 17 Pekanbaru totaling 36 people. The stages of research implementation each cycle consists of four stages, namely (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, (4) reflection. Data about the activities of students and teachers has increased from cycle I to cycle II as well as the value of student learning outcomes. In cycle I the average value of learning outcomes was 79.58 and there were still 4 students who got a value of 65 (not yet completed) while in cycle II the average value of student learning outcomes was 90.92 and all students were in the complete category. From these data it can be concluded that through the type of jigsaw cooperative learning model can improve the learning outcomes of integrated science class VII students of SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru.
